Areas on the screen
Introduction
The Online Bible-app uses different areas on your screen for different purposes. Each area has its own buttons which adds functionality.
The bible area
The Bible area is used to display the Bible text in context. You can find the Bible area at the top of your screen.
The reference area
The reference area is located below the Bible area. You can hide and display this area by tapping the central button at the bottom of your screen.
The pop-up overlay
Whenever you do a search, press a hyperlink or tap a button a pop-up overlay is displayed.
The buttons
Buttons on top of the bible area
At top of the Bible area you see a bar with the Online Bible icon and several buttons. Under this bar is another bar indicating which verse is displayed at top of the Bible area.
The button-bar of the Bible area can have the following buttons:
Select Version button
The Select Version button displays the currently selected Bible. When tapped it gives a pop-up overlay with an overview of the Bible versions and apocrypha you have available on your device. Use this button to change from one Bible version to another.
Select Bible Passage button
The Select Bible Passage button is used to select a passage to display in the Bible area.
Bookmarks overview
Press the Bookmark button to obtain an overview of the bookmarks you have saved.
Toggle Strongs button
With the Toggle Strongs button you can activate the display of Strongs numbers in the Bible text. This button is only visible when the selected Bible Version contains Strongs numbers. When the switch is toggled “on” the button highlights, while in the “off” position the button is gray.
Toggle Inline Notes button
With the Toggle Inline Notes button you can activate the display of small inline notes in the Bible text. This button is only visible when the selected Bible version contains these small inline notes. When the switch is toggled “on” the button highlights, while in the “off” position the button is gray. This button is only for small inline notes which belong to the Bible version. For larger notes and commentaries you use the reference area.
Search button
If you want to search for a word in the Bible text press the Search button. Read more about search here.
Menu button
The Menu button gives you some extra menu’s not available as button on screen. Be aware that not all devices (like Samsung Galaxy) display this button. These devices do have a hardware menu-button on the device. Pressing this button gives the same menu-options.
By pressing this Menu button you obtain the following menu options:
Search (if it is not displayed on the menu bar)
Account
Get free and paid content
Quick Help
Help and FAQ

Buttons on top of the reference area
The reference area contains a bar with several buttons.
Open / Close the reference area
You can open and close the reference area by tipping the large central button at top of this screen. If the reference area is closed you still see this button at the bottom of your screen.
You can use this same button to change the size of the reference area by moving this button up or down while holding it touched with your finger.
Select Reference Title button
The Select Reference button is used to select a reference title, like a Note-set/Commentary, Dictionary, Lexicon or Book.
Select item
The Select Item button is used to open a Note/Commentary, Dictionary or Lexicon on a particular item.
Previous and Next buttons (tablets only)
The arrow buttons left and right on the menu bar of the Reference screen are just to move to the next or previous item in the selected Reference title. These buttons only appear on larger screens.
